Omega Seamaster “Jumbo” Ref.166.010 SP Cal.565 35.0mm 1968

Up for grabs is a beautiful mid-sized vintage Jumbo Omega Seamaster Reference 166.010 SP at 35.0mm. The perfect dress watch for any occasion.

The dial itself is nearly flawless, with crisp wording highlighting its originality and its beautiful applied Omega logo. All of this comes nicely on top a beautiful white sunburst dial that when paired with the sharp dauphine hands and baton hour markers, both with matching black inserts, plays brilliantly in the light. The case itself comes in a well balanced mid-size of 35.0mm in diameter and with a 42.0mm lug to lug distance. It has a nice subtle presence on my 6.3inch wrist and wears extremely comfortably even in Singapore’s humid weather.

Turning the case over one would see Omega’s classic hippocampus logo. The whole case comes topped off with its original Omega acrylic crystal, indicated by the miniature Omega logo etched into the middle of the glass.

Moving onto the movement, the watch is powered by Omega’s well regarded Calibre 565 automatic movement. The movement has just been serviced September 2024 and is running at an excellent -1.4s/day, which is very accurate for a watch of this age.

Furthermore, the movement comes with a quickset date which unlike modern movements is done by pulling the crown to its third position, which will move forward the date wheel by one. One can change the date by moving the crown between its second and third position to allow for easy setting of the date. (Do remember as the same for ever watch do not change the date when the hands are in between 9pm-3am) The watch comes on one of our own brand new exotic lizard leather/calfskin mixed straps.
