Omega Seamaster Crosshair dial “Beefy” Lugs Ref.166.009 Cal.562 34.0mm 1965

Up for sale here is a rare Crosshair dial variant of the iconic “Beefy” Lug Omega Seamaster Ref.166.009.

The dial itself comes in a spectacular silver sunburst colour, with some beautiful natural patina around the dial giving it a tropical feel unique to this watch. The dial comes with a perfectly centred Crosshair, showcasing its originality as only Omega’s own craftsmen would be able to achieve this precision. The dial comes with a beautiful set of dauphine hands with black inserts that pair well with the applied hour markers that have similar black inserts. Creating an overall blend that plays well in the light.

Moving on to the case, it comes with Omega’s popular “Beefy” Lug design. The name comes from the thick lugs on the watch which is extremely popular amongst collectors for its classic look. The case itself comes with no deep scratches, merely minor scratches that are barely visible and do not affect its performance at all. Furthermore it comes with its original Omega stamped crown at the 3 O’clock position.

The case back comes with Omega’s iconic Hippocampus logo. Housed inside is Omega’s renown Cal.562 automatic movement in a brilliant copper tone. Well known for their reliability and longevity, they provide upmost accuracy with its swan neck regulator on top of its escapement wheel. The movement has just been serviced in October 2024 by a professional watchmaker and runs at an amazing -3.4s/day, which is spectacular for a watch of this age.

In addition, the watch comes on a beautiful genuine leather strap with an original Omega Stainless Steel clasp.
